About the Artist: Sarah Pyne hails from a small town of 800 in Maine. She graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Architecture. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Architecture at the Virginia Tech School of Architecture and Design.
Sarah’s art reflects the detailed style of an architect, focusing on clean lines and simple color schemes. However, she uses art as a way to remove herself from the crisp precision one often finds in blueprints. Instead, she tends to create simple—almost delicate—works. This is contrasted by the powerful and sometimes jarring subjects of her work—often raw and unfiltered portrayals of varying levels of non-traditional intimacy. Sarah uses art as a way to explore her own sexuality and empower both herself and others to feel more confident in expressing pride in their LGBTQ+ identity.
