Uzo Njoku, born in Lagos, Nigeria moved to the United States at the Age of 7. Her artwork explores the current landscape of contemporary, figurative, and nude paintings, particularly with women of color. Her work is heavily influenced by salient topics and issues of the 21st century, including race, gender, privacy, social media and love. Uzo graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Studio Art.
